The Story of This Place
After returning from a journey around the world, we — Mélanie, Arnaud and our three children — were looking for a new project that truly reflected who we are. We were searching for a place that embodied our values: nature all around, trees, a river, birds, and a beautiful building full of history. The Forêt d’Orient Regional Natural Park felt like the perfect setting.
The Domaine Le Colombier was love at first sight. No matter its condition or the tremendous amount of work ahead, we knew this place would become our home — and more than that. We wanted to welcome others the way we had been welcomed throughout our travels: with heart and strong values.
Originally, Le Colombier was a farm built in 1830 and once part of a nearby château. Later, the Plumey family transformed it into a campsite, guesthouse, and restaurant. After many wonderful years, the place eventually fell quiet. We discovered it in 2016, and in 2018, with the help of many people — family, friends, and supporters — it came back to life.
Since then, we have worked tirelessly, as a family and alongside dedicated collaborators, to turn this unique place into the setting for your most memorable holidays.
Seeing couples, families and groups return year after year, watching children play, neighbours connect, and guests enjoy the river — whether swimming or fishing — is our greatest reward.

The Campsite
Now rated 4 stars, the campsite has been recognised for the constant care given to its surroundings, your comfort, its level of facilities, and its reputation for cleanliness. In 2025, it was ranked the best campsite in the Grand Est region and even 15th in France (Pitchup customer reviews ranking).
The Guesthouses
With a capacity ranging from 4 to 15 guests, our accommodations are comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Beds are made upon your arrival, towels are provided, and we even take care of the final cleaning when you leave. We often welcome groups of friends or families gathering together, making the most of the Great Hall or the La Forge room, as well as couples looking for a peaceful weekend getaway.
The cabins
The “P’tits Nids” cabins are perfect for a weekend at Nigloland or as a stopover along the Via Francigena pilgrimage route. Each cabin features its own private sanitary unit located just next door, as well as a complimentary breakfast kit.

The secret to a successful stay often lies in the activities and facilities available. We have thought of everything, for both children and adults:
For everyone: private access to the river with a terrace and sun loungers, a pétanque court, giant table football, a relaxation area with a library, board games, sofas, Lego, and much more…
Children: playground with trampoline, zip line, and a wooden cabin…
Adults: riverside sauna
Kayak rental to explore the meandering Aube River, bike rental to discover the rich natural surroundings of the regional park,
Located by Lake Amance, it is the perfect place to enjoy nature and its many activities. The beach is just 5 minutes away.
On-site dining options
At the reception snack bar, we offer takeaway meals every day, a weekly pizza night, and many other delicious options, including a wide selection of local products.
Several food trucks also set up just outside the Colombier on multiple evenings throughout the summer.
Many restaurants are located just a few minutes’ walk from the Colombier (Bar du Centre, Pizzeria les 3 pianos, P’tit Mousse, Vert Casserole, Brasserie du Port, MBeach).
